134 - 135 - 136 were the first Batteries in the Regiment

At the outbreak of the first world war in 1914, 136 Bty was replaced with 27 Bty

By 1920 in Hyderabad India the Regiment consisted of 27 - 134 - 135
there was also 86 Bty


In 1922 134 Bty was renumbered 34 - 135 became 72

When the Regiment served in Quetta India it consisted of :-

34 - 72 - 27 & 86

In 1947 when the Regiment was renumbered 42 the Battery numbers also changed

27 became 68 - 34 became 87 and 72 became 179

1958 :- 94
Bty joined from 54 Regt &
49 B
ty joined from 23 Regiment
87 and 179
went into suspended animation

1969 :- 18 B
ty joined and 68 went into suspended animation

ON THE REGIMENTS DISBANDMENT IN 1977 THE BATTERIES WERE POSTED TO
18 Bty to 5 HEAVY REGIMENT
49 Bty to 40 FIELD REGIMENT
94 Bty to
49 FIELD REGIMENT
