Serving Batteries were 68 - 87 - 179
The Regiment at this time had the 25Pdr Gun 
1958 :- 94 Bty Joined from 54 HAA Regiment & 49 Bty Joined from  23 Regiment
...........87 and 179 went into suspended animation.
  
  In October 1962 the Regiment title changed to
42nd Medium Regiment
This was due to taking delivery of the 5.5 Gun 
 
In 1967 the Regiment took 
delivery of the American M109 but retained the Title Medium. It also retained the Title when posted to Devizes in Witshire when we again had the 5,5 
The Batteries serving were 49 Inkerman - 94 New Zealand and  68 
In 1968 18 Battery went into suspended animation and was replaced by 18 Quebec Battery 
The title changed once again, when the Regiment 
          was posted to Fallingbostle in 1971 and was allocated the M107 so the regiment became  42nd Heavy Regiment RA
  It was whilst stationed in Fallingbostle - on 
    the 25th February 1977 
  that the Regiment was DISBANDED
