GAIETY IN THE CAMP
Gaiety reigned supreme in the gymnasium at Papakura military camp on friday night. Forgotten were examinations Brigade Exercise a year of progress and high endevour was almost ovet and with Christam approaching the time for relaxation had come.
First ina series of unit ce;lebrations was the "all ranks ball" which proved a most successful and a very happy function.
Somwhere around 2300hrs a Sgt appeared before the camp Commandant, Lt Col J.R Spence and in a delightfull English voice said "Sgt Mitchell and party for 94 New Zealand Battery reporting Sir"
With Sgt Mitchell was three other Soldiers who ahd hitch hiked air rides from England to attend the Centenary of the battle of Rangiriri on saturday. In short order the visitors were soon thoroughly at home and joining in the merryment.
